At The Paws Lodge, we believe dogs deserve more than just a place to stay. They deserve a place to feel loved, safe, and relaxed.

Owners David and Lisa Skoczen built The Paws Lodge right on their own property in Southington, Ohio, turning their lifelong love of dogs into a peaceful countryside retreat for pets. With 13 acres of open land, 20 private runs, and a ¾-mile nature trail, the lodge was designed to give every pup the comfort and care they’d find at home, maybe even a little more.

A Dream Built on Love (and Four Dogs)

For David and Lisa, starting The Paws Lodge was about more than building a business. It was about sharing what they love most: life with dogs.

After years of caring for their own four pups, they realized there was a need for a boarding experience that put every dog first. No breed restrictions, no crowded playgroups, just personalized care, comfort, and safety.

Here, every dog has their own space to rest and play, and plenty of room to stretch their legs in the fresh country air. Because dogs deserve peace of mind, too.

Lincoln (Great Dane)

Keeps a watchful eye on everyone and makes sure the lodge stays calm and orderly. A natural-born leader with a gentle heart.

Rosie (Great Dane)

Head of Security

Always on duty, even if she’s just guarding the couch. Nothing gets past her — except maybe during treat time.

Axel (Beagle)

Director of Food & Naps

Specializes in snack management and comfort testing. If it’s soft or smells good, Axel has personally approved it.

Benny (Beagle/Cocker Spaniel)

Entertainment Coordinator

Loves attention, tail wags, and making everyone smile. No day at the lodge is boring when Benny’s around.
